Purpose The Manager is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the implementation of Newmonts investor relations and corporate communications plans, ensuring that the company maintains its relationships with its institutional and retail stockholders as well as the equity analysts who write research on the company.
The individual will work closely with and be directly responsible to the Group Executive of Investor Relations.
Essential Duties The Manager of IRs major focus is competitive market intelligence including analysis of the industry landscape, our peers, relative market valuations and gold industry drivers as well as Newmont stock position, trading patterns, tracking and institutional ownership.
The manager will in part fill the gap vacated by the Director of Investor Relationsa position the department has eliminated in an effort to reduce costs.
This person must demonstrate good judgment and on his/her feet decision making abilities, be able to interact with external institutional investors and sell and buy side analysts and work closely and travel with Senior Management.
Specific duties will include, but not be limited to:
Work directly with the Group Executive of Investor Relations and Vice President, IR and Communications to develop key messages of the Companys strategy and operational and financial performance, which will be incorporated into marketing presentations, press releases, the annual report, the information handbook, web content and other materials.
Analyze and draw conclusions for senior management regarding any value gaps in analyst models and present solutions for how the company can close these gaps.
*intensive regular reporting around peer companies, stockholdings, consensus estimates and valuations, including weekly monitoring and reporting of new analyst research and relevant company and industry news.
Sole responsibility for reviewing and summarizing relevant equity, economic and commodity market research for publication in the Investor Relations Monthly Report distributed to Senior Management and members of the Board of Directors.
Primary individual responsible for engaging with, answering questions and providing information for Newmonts retail investors.
Responsible for writing and editing Operations, Exploration, Newmont Capital, Project Pipeline, and ESR sections of Newmonts Annual Report to Shareholders and annual Investor Information Handbook.
Assist with coordination of quarterly earnings releases and calls including:
interpret and analyze financial statements of peer companies and of Newmont, identify key issues for the business, develop content for press releases, and prepare management for earnings calls.
Draft, edit and review presentations utilized by senior management in marketing efforts.
Participate in and coordinate programs such as company
*shareholder meetings, one
*one investor and analyst meetings, marketing road shows, investor conferences and analyst seminars and site visits.
*level knowledge base across all business units by building appropriate relationships, staying current on successes and challenges and participating in various meetings and events.

Training & Experience Bachelors degree, or higher, in Finance, Accounting, economics or related field; MBA or CPA preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 3 years experience working with senior executives in a corporate environment; minimum 5 years experience in IR, or buy side/sell side research or capital markets experience Strong understanding of Finance, capital markets and securities regulations.
In particular this person is responsible for a thorough understanding of all current and new disclosure requirements, Regulation FD, Sarbanes
*Oxley and corporate policies.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels within the organization Ability to work in fast
*paced, changing environment with a multitude of variant tasks Must be able to deliver high quality work under pressure and be extremely detail oriented Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and articulate financial data Strong financial modeling skills and understanding of accounting principals and practices Excellent communication/presentation skills, both written and verbal Strong skills with programs such as Word/Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, IR Channel, Reuters, and other related programs.
Working Conditions Located at the Corporate Office.
Global and frequent travel required including marketing and conference attendance with senior management including the CEO, President and CFO.
This person will be the primary Investor Relations contact when the Group Executive is traveling.
