Purpose The responsibilities of the Treasury Operations team include the global precious metals sales process, cash , investment and debt management, banking and treasury systems administration, the monitoring and reporting of the corporations derivative positions, SOX compliance, global bank account management and reporting, and management of Letters of Credit and Surety Bonds.
The Senior Treasury Analyst is responsible for cash and liquidity management including the investment and borrowing requirement of funds held by the company, recording, confirmation and settlement of all short term investment and borrowing activities, maintaining short and medium term cash forecasting, processing of wires, global bank account management, monitoring and analysis of banking fees and charges, derivative confirmations and settlement, FBAR reporting, and SOX compliance.
In addition the role will assist with the ongoing development of the City Financials treasury system, compilation of weekly and monthly treasury reports and provide financial analysis of treasury operating activities as required.
The Treasury Analyst will also provide back
    *up support for the global precious metals sales processes.
The position will require performance of a wide variety of project related duties necessary to drive continuous improvement of treasury operating activities.
Essential Duties Daily Cash Management Review of prior days cash activities against expected movements to ensure correct settlement of Treasury transactions and an accurate opening cash position.
Interaction with site personnel and corporate departments, along with collection of data from the treasury system, regarding expected cash movements for the following week, to facilitate the determination of cash funding or investment requirements.
Processing of all wire transfers in accordance with SOx control requirements, to include:
   Treasury related payments, vendor payments, payroll funding, site cash calls and foreign currency wires and checks.
Global bank account management and monitoring and analysis of banking fees and charges:
   Preparation of documentation required by banks to open and close bank and investment brokerage accounts.
Collecting necessary legal and tax information, and authorized signatories to complete documentation.

    *annual basis and update as required.
Review and analysis of monthly banking fees and charges relating to Denver managed USD bank accounts.
Preparation of summary reports of banking fees for management, including potential recommendations for procedural changes to reduce ongoing fees.
Managing the quarterly bank account validation process.
Weekly preparation of short term cash flow forecasts used by Treasury management to monitor liquidity and plan investing and borrowing activities.
This process involves:
   Interacting with finance personnel in each of Newmonts regional businesses and corporate departments for the purpose of obtaining future cash flow information.
Developing and improving of cash forecasting systems.
Investigating variance of actual results from forecast and using resulting information to reduce future variances when possible.
Holding sites accountable for quality of forecast information provided.
Assist with regular reporting, and financial analysis including:
   Weekly cash reports.
Monthly Treasury report compilation.

Training & Experience Completion of a finance related undergraduate degree.
A solid working experience of excel spreadsheets required.
Prior experience with Treasury Management Systems preferred.
Prior experience with Banking Systems and/or Software preferred.
An understanding of the basic financial markets products utilized by Newmont.
Certified Treasury Professional qualifications preferred.
